Conflict Coaching &
Creating Lightspace

An opportunity to understand yourself in conflict;

and use healing to enhance the embodiment of the mental changes

What is Conflict Coaching?

Conflict coaching is a one-to-one process to help people gain increased ability and skills to manage their interpersonal conflicts and disputes.

Conflict coaching enables the person to explore the conflict, to consider different perspectives and options for managing it, and to design an approach or action plan to settle it.

Conflict coaching can be useful at any stage of a conflict, both formally and informally, and should be especially considered when there is an ongoing relationship (in the workplace or at a personal level) or a need to communicate. It is useful as preparation for a mediation process or after mediation is finished in order to improve communication, although it is also very useful on its own – getting to know oneself through conflict and improving how we manage it in life.

My approach to conflict coaching is based upon over a decade of experience and training as a conflict resolution practitioner and mediator, incorporating the Cinergy coaching model in which I am trained as a conflict coach.

Conflict is a natural part of life. The question is not whether we have conflict or not; it is how we manage it that makes the difference. We really do have a choice about how to be as human beings.

How does it work?

Although even one session can be useful, the most effective Conflict Coaching process comprises around 10 hours of work, at least 6 of which are face-to-face (whether physically or online). The rest are focused on reading, reflecting, homework exercises and feedback.

As a conflict coach my role is to support, assist and encourage the ‘coachee’ to reach their goals. We will speak or meet on days and times that are mutually convenient (sessions are generally 1.5 – 2.5h, but their length can be adapted to the coachee’s needs), at which time I will ask questions and guide our dialogue, using feedback, active listening and different frameworks to ensure the process remains focused on their objective.

I will provide them with constructive feedback without judgement, whilst asking them to consider different perspectives – not to undermine their views but to see if another perspective aligns more closely with what they want to achieve. My role is not to provide advice or to act as advocate or representative.

What is Creating Lightspace?

Creating Lightspace is an opportunity where a person can, in a more throughout way, consciously address and explore what causes a conflict in their lives AND rebalance themselves and their physical/electrical body as the changes happen.  In this way, healing and increased well-being may flow through all parts of the newly aligned person.

This is a joint venture between Conflict Coach Macarena Mata and Wellbeing Sciences Practitioner Jane Guest.
