This intense six day accredited training in Community Mediation is designed to help you gain the capability and confidence to understand, implement, manage and lead mediation processes in the community.
This course is fully accredited by the Open College Network (OCN www.ocnlondon.org.uk/) at Level 3 (equivalent to an Advanced Diploma) offering three units with a total of 8 credits. The learning integrates theoretical, practical and self-reflective aspects. You will learn about conflict and mediation within different contexts in the community, the practical skills and mindsets needed to be a mediator, the process of mediation and methods to continue your professional development.
The format of the course includes pre-course reading, face-to-face delivery, group discussions, practical exercises, simulations of detailed mediation scenarios and personal study and reflection. The assessment process involves formative assessment, an assessed role play, reflective logs and questions & answers (Q&A) written assignments; you will have a month after the course to finalise the written work.
